Ok I told the story before and will say it again. I had brain sugery in May and have been out of work for a long time. As you can imagine I am broke. I know from the past that the tech guys on here are extremely inteligent when it comes to computer stuff. And compared to me you guys are Albert Einstine. Anyway, I am trying to get back on my feet financially and I am a mortgage broker so it shouldnt take long. But for now I have to keep my overhead very low. I like using e-fax because I can recieve a fax via e-mail and e-fax comes with a program that converts the fax into a pdf file so I can send conditions to my lenders. I have recently found out that e-fax is raising their prices. I have been searching online and saw that it is somehow possible to get programs to recieve unlimited faxes via e-mail at no cost (at least it seams to be). Then I saw some programs out there that can convert these faxes to a pdf format. I am just not computer literate enough to understand how to do it. I am begging for your help on this. I dont need a program to send faxes just to recieve them and convert them into a pdf format. If you cant figure that out and you come across a cheap fax service let me know. But of course I prefer the free one since I know its out there. Please help if you can.

Fax

chugg, I don't know much about faxes but from just a quick search, it looks like e-fax has a big market share of the online fax business. They do offer a free service http://www.efax.com/en/efax/twa/productOverviewalong side of their pay service, but I guess thats not what you are looking for.

This webite has some info, but most is just about sending a fax not recieving one

If you are looking to convert files to pdf, this utility called CutePDF Witer is free and easy to install and use

download here
http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp

you will also need the free converter called Ghostscript. It is on the same page under installation requirements or to the left under free converter.

awseome!

https://www.callwave.com

This site is exactly what I was looking for. I searched for weeks and this is the best one hands down. They give you a local number, the faxes get to your e-mail almost instantly and alot faster than e-fax, they come in a pdf format already and all this for 7.95 per month! E-fax is raising their prices to 17.00 per month which is why I switced and theirs is not fast, you have to hav etheir program to open a fax so its not as easy to forward to others as it is with the pdf. Let me know what ya think. Im baked right now lol.
